Spending time with Ashley is one of my favorite things to do.
Last night, I took her and Keaton, her awesome boyfriend, to the mall.
They are planning on attending Western Kentucky next fall so we “had” to pick up matching sweatshirts. It was fun to see them decide which ones, what size, giggle and laugh, pose in goofy ways and just ham it up. Good thing there wasn’t anyone else in the store…
They also found nice matching holiday sweaters and lounging pants. I remember how it felt to be young and in love and I have to sit back and just grin at them. They are so cute and have a true spirit of giving to each other.
We headed out to Bowling Green, which is about 40 minutes from Glasgow because our little town just cut it in terms of fun shopping opportunities. I live in a pretty small (boring) but nice town. It was all laughs, ‘knock-knock’ jokes, bad singing, funny stories all the way.
Our first stop was FOOD! We were hungry! We ate at Fazolli’s, an Italian eatery and I enjoyed the chicken parmasean (love it!)
Then we hit the mall looking for sweaters and nothing else in particular but did the whole “hanging out” and window shopping. Looking at the latest phones, CD’s, books, and shoes are always a hit.
Fortunately for me, the kids love to read. They can both get lost in a book and trying to get their attention and pull them out of their adventure can be an ordeal. So, of course, a stop at Barnes and Noble is an absolute must.
I picked up some good reads….
Tribes by Seth Godin
The Heart of a Leader by Ken Blanchard
The Power of Less by Leo Babauta
The Leadership Lessons of Jesus by Bob Briner and Ray Pritchard
Going to read Tribes first… I’ve been anxious to read it.
