Facebook: How to Tag Someone on Facebook
It’s always nice to learn that others are speaking kindly and highly of you, yes? In the same respect, it’s a courtesy to let others know you’re saying great things about them. One way you can do that is to “tag” them on their Facebook wall.
For example, if you are talking about John and a great blog post he wrote and want him to see that you are doing so, from your wall, as you talk about him, you can tag his name so that your comment shows up on his wall as well.
To hyperlink his name or “tag” him, it works very much like Twitter. Simply add the @ sign in front of his name. You will see then, as you begin to type his name, he will display automatically (you must be connected as friends for this to work). So, here’s what my wall post may look like:
My good friend @johnexample wrote a great post about time management. Check it out here (then post his link). When you submit that post to your wall, it also shows up on his wall.
Now, when friends and fans see your post, they can simply click on John’s name that you’ve hyperlinked and that will take them right to John’s page. Likewise, the friends and fans on John’s profile will be able to click on your photo and be taken to your profile.
This is a great way to network, engage in conversation and provides a win-win situation for you both. You have exposure on his wall and you exposed him on your wall.
I put together a short video for you to see how this works. Enjoy
If you liked this Facebook tag strategy, please leave me a comment and retweet. Thanks.
