3 Ways to Position Yourself As An Expert

As I continue with my Best Network Marketing Strategies Series, I have to say this is one of my favorites. 


Because it's a chance for me to share with the new or struggling network marketer how they can really have fun in their business and start getting the results they want.

I'm hoping that this series will show them that it's actually not hard and will give them a real direction to go. 

New network marketers don't utilize the attraction marketing strategies I've been sharing simply because they think they can't do it

I'm not saying "can't" in terms of something being disallowed. 

I'm saying it in terms of a response to their unspoken thoughts which say, "I'm new so I don't know anything."

And because they come into their business with that mindset, they simply don't apply them. 

They avoid the very thing that they must do to get going  and as a result, they spin their wheels and never gain their momentum.  

The key is to apply these best network marketing strategies as fast and as furiously as they can which will positively position them as a leader, an expert, even before they are.

Does this mean they are a fake? 

No.  Not at all.

It's possible (and necessary) to be authentic but at the same time, not be afraid to start taking steps toward being that alpha leader.

People will join you in business for two reasons and two reasons only. 

1)  They believe you are an Alpha leader who can help them get what they want.

2)  You have a system in place they feel they can benefit from. 

That is it.  End of story.

Here's what we've learned so far in our Best Network Marketing Series.

Nobody cares about your company.

Nobody cares about your compensation plan.

Nobody cares who your CEO is.

Nobody cares that the company is debt free.

blah, blah, blah

Ok, so what DO people care about?  

Getting their problem solved.

What do network marketers ultimately want? 

They want money coming in so they can live the life they want.

Here's their problem….

1)  Money isn't coming in.

2)  They don't have a game plan for their marketing.

3)  They are trying to learn a zillion different technical skills at once.

4)  They are spending time and energy for hours in front of their computer doing nothing.

5)  They are overwhelmed.

6)  They can't reach their upline.  Or, if they can and are given a direction, they stray.

7)  They don't have systems to help them.

8)  They don't know the lingo of the industry

9)  The pieces are not coming together mentally

Can you see why when you market to these people about your compensation plan, your products, your CEO, how long your company has been around, they just don't care?  

Does this guy look like that's the information he needs right now?

What would make his day?

YOU showing up and lending a hand.



Send them content, help, tips, and ideas to solve their problem.

When you do this, in their eyes, you are the expert.  You have the answers.  You offer the solution to their problems and can't wait for your next email.

Send valuable and meaning follow up emails to your list of subscribers who are seeking desperately for help.. 

At least a couple times a week send them something they want to read that really helps them.  They don't want to read about your business.  They want to read about how to make money online so they can have their lifestyle.

This can also be called a newsletter.

Come up with a dozen or so emails or newsletters, that you can send to your list over the next 6 weeks (that's 2 a week).  Here are some examples of what you may want to write about.

  • How to generate 10 leads a day in your first 30 days of business.
  • How the right mindset sets the stage for your success.
  • Top 5 things you must be prepared for when you begin your home business.
  • Why being in a community of like-minded entrepreneurs makes a difference.
  • 10 books to read this summer that can skyrocket your business.
  • How to have your business running on autopilot while you sleep.
  • Why having a blog is critical for any business owner
  • What is attraction marketing and why is it important

Notice NONE of these headlines read, "You've got to see this amazing pay plan!"

If you don't know the answers or the content to these, you can look to others for it.  Here's how to do that.

You can search out blogs and training and articles that teach and share the information you're looking for.

When you are just beginning, it will be things you are learning as you get set up. 

This is where you get to practice your learn, do and teach attraction marketing strategies.

Here's some ideas.

  • How to set up the autoresponder
  • How to create a capture page using whatever software / platform you are using
  • How to set up a Facebook Profile / Fan Page
  • How to set up a YouTube Channel
  • How to Link your Autoresponder to your Capture Page
  • How to write a blog pos

Again, these are just ideas that can help you get started, then roll from there.

This is a must have.  A blog is your most valued online real estate.  

People buy from those they know, like and trust, and when you are posting everything you're learning and inspiration, ideas and such to your blog, you'll be chased.  

You don't have to be a good writer to blog.  Be yourself.  People appreciate the help and you are making a difference in their lives by putting your best foot forward to share your knowledge.

    You've touched on some real gems when it comes to branding and positioning for people who are new to the industry. To often I see people being held back because they think they need to learn everything before they can position themselves as someone who has value to offer. Yet as you've mapped out above, it can be as simple as teaching people to set up a Facebook page. 
    I love how you drove home that people ultimately don't care about your company. If only more people on the Social Networks understood this!

It has to start with where your head is in the game. If your head is not in the right place then your business will not grow.
