3 Strategies For Hitting Your Goals
In Your Home Based Business

Do you find yourself frustrated because you don’t reach the goals you set for yourself in business? I know for a lot of people, this is true.  If you find yourself in this category of discouraged home business entrepreneurs, this article is may help you.

Here’s three strategies that have been proven to work for myself and others that if you apply, you will surely see different and better results.

1) Set goals you can reach.

It’s fantabulous (that’s my own made up word) to have big goals. You need big goals as these are often the whole reason you started a home based business to begin with.

Take a look at goal setting using the SMART Goals criteria.


smart goalsHere’s the problem with setting big goals and not breaking them down into bite size pieces.

You break your word to yourself when you don’t meet those bigger goals if you’re not ready and positioned to do that.

If you continue to do this, you develop a pattern of breaking your word to yourself and that leads to feeling unworthy.

For example, if you set a goal and tell yourself you’re going to reach the XYZ rank in your company in 90 days but in all reality, that would take a super human effort yet you work your hiney off to accomplish that and miss your goal, you get so discouraged.

And you run into this discouragement over and over and over and it gets to a point where you think, “Why bother, I’m not good enough.”

It would be much better for you set goals reaching the XYZ rank further out and in the meantime, achieve the ABC rank in 90 days.

Set a series of smaller goals to achieve that take you to the bigger goals.

That is doable and gives you now, an opportunity to celebrate and pat yourself on the back for doing what you said you would do.   You kept your word to yourself and there’s even more power in that!

If you only set big goals that take super human abilities, you’ll just disappoint yourself and won’t be motivated to work toward new goals.


Honor your word to yourself.

Did you know that life and death are in your words?  That’s true.

You can speak powerful words and effect tremendous change, or you can speak negativity and get yourself a pile a rubble.

The same is true of your words to yourself when it comes to doing what you say you will do for yourself.

For some reason, we put more value on words we tell others.

So for example if you tell your friend you’re going to help him move on Saturday, you show up. You help him move on Saturday. You are a person of your word.  You feel good, you feel worthy.

But then you tell yourself you’re going to starting exercising 5 days a week for 30 minutes but in reality, you get home from work and sit on the couch and channel surf instead.

You broke your word to yourself. There’s nothing worthy in those actions.  You’re getting use to you breaking your word to yourself.  That’s terrible for your belief in yourself and your self-worth.

2.  Put your goals in writing after you reverse engineer them.


A goal not written down is just a thought. So write them down.  Simple enough.

And write them in a way you reverse engineer them so you know exactly what you need to do.

For example, if your goal is to make $1000 a month and you have a product that pays you a $500 commission, you need two sales.  That’s easy to understand, right?

Ask yourself what it takes to make two sales?

Well, if for every 100 people who sees your business presentation, one buys, you need 200 sets of eyeballs on your presentation every month.

200 divided by 30 days to a month is 6.5 people, so round that up to 7 people a day watching your presentation and having a conversation with you.

If you have a commission structure that only pays you $50 when someone says, “Yes” to your product or service and you want to achieve $1,000 a month income, then you have a much bigger road to travel.

If you don’t like those numbers, you may want to consider the amount of commission you make when someone says yes.

I went through this myself.  I considered how many people have to see my presentation and when someone says, “Yes” how much money do I make from that ONE yes.  I wanted to work smarter, not harder, so I opted for a high ticket product.  When someone says “YES”, I make $1050-$3000.

By choosing a high ticket commission product, you may only need one sale once a month, or maybe even just 6 times a year.

3.  Upgrade your mindset and skillset.


If you set goals in the past and didn’t accomplish them, and then use the same skillsets, tools and mindset to try to achieve them again, guess what? You’re not going to make it.

You need a tune up.

You need to tune up your skill sets, your mindset and maybe use a different set of tools.

The definition of insanity is to continue to do the same thing over and over and expect new results. Not gonna happen.

If you want new positive results you’ve got to up your game with your skills and mindset.

Here’s how to believe in yourself again.

1) Set goals you feel you can hit, feel good about, and moves you forward toward want you want in the bigger goals.

2) Put them down in writing and reverse engineer your plan.

3) Crush your goals by stepping up mentally and learn the skills that you need to up your game.

I believe in you.

I believe you can learn anything you want to.

I believe there are no limits, in fact, to what we can learn and how much we can improve our thinking and skillsets to play bigger and bolder and stronger.

I believe that THIS is is what we hold onto and can count on to accomplishing everything we want in life.
